![]() ![]() Likewise, Christians over the years have taken Paul’s epistle to the church in Rome and identified key verses which, taken together, form a road that leads one to an understanding of the basic gospel of Jesus Christ. And, as the saying went, all those roads eventually led to Rome itself. The concept of the “Romans Road” likely stems from the old saying “All roads lead to Rome.” One of the ways the Roman Empire conquered the known world in its day was the development of a road system that connected the various provinces and major cities of the Roman Empire in a way that facilitated easier, often safer, and more efficient trade, commerce, and transportation. You might even call it “Christianity 101.” As a kid growing up in Warrenton, Virginia, I remember learning the “Romans Road to Salvation.” It was an extremely practical, simple, and straightforward way of understanding – and sharing – the basic salvation message of Christianity.
